Why do we need the next gen already? - InsertCointoBegin.com ...

? July 31, 2012Posted in: OP. ED.

PC gamers are always bragging about how they don?t have to wait for the next console to continue gaming on the next level. Console gamers are always counter arguing that the games for PC aren?t as good as they once were. Sure, PC gamers can update their systems sooner and play the next Sims or W.O.W. The argument has been and will continue to be an extremely debated item.

This would cease to happen should game development companies stop asking for more so often. We are in the longest generation of video game consoles to date and it has been going so well for everyone! However, this is not enough for the majority of gamers. I mean think about what we have accomplished in this generation. Consoles intagrating online, multiplayer game play CORRECTLY! Sure, we started touching on this in the last generation but it was far from perfect. Gaming systems have gone from all gaming to all multimedia. You can dance or run or even yoga it up in front of your console and you don?t need to hold a controller. This is still fairly new.

Now, Thanks to FIFA 13 if you have a kinect hooked up you can(and most likely will be) yellow or even red carded(if that?s how the rules work, not really a soccer guy) for inappropriate language during your game play. However, that allows you to change up your formation and call different plays. With Haunted(Xbox live game) you explore a haunted house and help restore the owner. Using nothing but your hands and feet you walk around the house using a flash light.

Now while being a nerd makes me excited to see where we are headed next with technology, I think its too soon. I think we are only scratching the surface with this gen. I already know that I am in the minority in this opinion but darn it, that?s my thoughts. What are yours? do you think we should move on already or is there still life left on these ones?
